The wedding dress neckline is extremely important as it is that part of the wedding dress which draws the maximum attention of the people. The wedding dress neckline should be chosen keeping in mind a number of factors. Here are a variety of wedding dress necklines to choose from:
Scoop/ round neckline
The scoop is a U-shaped neckline, which is often cut quite low and is similar at the back of the dress. This style suits every bride and is the best choice of designers.
Halter neck

The halter neck straps join at the back of the neck or a high neck with wide armholes. This design usually has a very low cut at the back. This style especially suits brides with great shoulders. Brides with narrow shoulders should avoid halter neck.
Queen Anne

As the name suggests, Queen Anne neckline is reminiscent of the style worn during the reign of Queen Anne in 18th-century England. The design features a heart-shaped neckline in the front and a high back, which is often joined to the front by sleeves. The sleeves cover the shoulders or are full-length. Brides who wish to display their cleavage can opt for this style.
Sweetheart

The sweetheart has a low neckline, similar in shape but slightly less accentuated than the Queen Anne. The back is usually cut at a similar height to the front but without the curvy heart shape. This may or may not be strapless depending on the designer of your dress but works well in accentuating cleavage and if your are already well-endowed.
Off the shoulder
The broad sweeping off-shoulder neckline style has small sleeves or straps, which sit just below the shoulder on the upper arm, showing off the shoulders and collar bone. Good for curves and medium to full-chested brides, but not ideal for those with wide shoulder. Selecting this neckline is generally safe and works well if you have a pear-shaped body. You should avoid this style if you have broad shoulders or arms as this neckline would only work to accentuate them further.
Strapless

The strapless bodice is usually figure-hugging, with a straight or shaped neckline. This style is good for those with broad shoulders. Strapless gown designs feature neither sleeves nor straps. Works well if you are already well-endowed and/or are blessed with beautiful shoulders and noticeable collarbones. Avoid this neckline if you have narrow shoulders.
Portrait

Follows the same concept as the Off the Shoulder neckline though the difference here being that a scoop is provided to frame the shoulders and collarbone. A safe selection if you have full arms and prominent collarbones but avoid if your collarbones are hard to see.
Jewel

Jewel necklines follow the curvature of the neck. This neckline works well for women who want to enhance their chest areas.
Asymmetric

This neckline works with a single strap coming across the front and is a very unique style requiring specific taste. It emphasizes the collarbone but should be avoided if you possess broad shoulders.
Bateau

This wide top follows the natural curve of your collarbone and is a basic neckline selection. The front and back neck areas are equally and minimally exposed and works well to enhance the chest area.
V- shape neck

This V-shaped wedding dress neckline flatters many body types. The depth of the “V” depending on the design of the wedding gown. Works well for full figured women or those possessing the hour glass body shape.
