Many brides have little prior knowledge about wedding veil styles, headpieces and an idea about how to arrange them together.
A comb is simply used to detangle your hair however a bridal comb is of two types– one to attach the veil and the other to adorn your hair. It is the brides individual preferrence to use either one or both.
The Veil Comb
Usually a comb comes with a veil and is used to attach the veil to the top or back of your head. The veil comb is used to hold the veil to the brides head. The benefit of using this comb is that the bride can easily remove the veil after the wedding ceremony while keep her headpiece intact. The veil comb is not visible but it is used to keep the veil intact to the head.
The veil comb comes in various lengths and sizes and is created of wire or plastic material. Wire combs are more expensive than the plastic ones , but it is more flexible and can be pinned if required. Plastic combs are a little clumsy and thicker hence takes longer to adjust.
The Decorative Bridal Comb
The decorative bridal combs are used to adorn the brides hair. Hence it is visible unlike the veil comb which remains hidden and is used to keep the veil intact to the brides head. Decorative combs accentuates your hairstyle and even if you remove the veil after the wedding ceremony you will appear beautiful.
There are myriad varities of gorgeous bridal combs available – Simple, classic, elegant and ornate but they are less formal than other wedding headpieces like tiaras, crowns, etc. The decorative comb can be worn on the top, side, or back of the head. If you are wearing it at the back of the head you can use a larger comb and if you are adorning the sides use a smaller elegant comb. It can also be used on top of the head in place of a tiara. In fact, you can even buy tiaras attached to combs instead of built into the typical band.
Tiara Combs
Till now we were talking about combs and tiaras separately but there are taira combs as well which looks like a tiara but keeps your hair intact like a comb. There are a multitude of stunning tiara combs available for the bride to select.
Combining Veil and Decorative Combs
Another option would be to use a tiara comb with a veil. Use a decorative comb while attaching the bridal veil instead of the veil comb which comes with the veil purchased. This will decrease the amount of pins used in the brides hair and make her feel more comfortable. However it may be disadvantageous aslo if the bride wishes to remove the veil after the wedding ceremony. In this case the tiara will also get removed with the veil.
