Regardless of the type of occasion, colours like beige, white, peach, black and midnight blue always retain their charm. You can dress up in these shades for all occasions -be it  wedding, a ball, a black tie party. Vibrant and daring colours like fuchsia, canary yellow, royal blue, and jade green can go out of season hence does not make perfect choices for you to spend on.

3. Accessories
Its best to minimize accessories and embellishments for your evening dresses. A simple dress is an eternal choice. Avoid beadwork and sequins as they do more harm than good.

4. Fringes
Avoid choosing ruffled or fluffy evening dresses. These are the kind of dresses that recall to mind wedding and bridesmaids dress styles.  These dresses not only lack elegance and style but appear appalling for an occasion.

5. Neckline Cut
The neckline cut of a dress affects the overall appearnce of your evening gown. A décolleté is timeless and basically suits everyone in any size. Women with heavier busts should avoid wearing closed neck or turtle necks as it adds weight to the figure.
